Adidas, a renowned name in sportswear and lifestyle, has ventured boldly into the digital landscape with their latest initiative, Adidas /// Studio’s “Residency by Adidas.” Unveiled during Korea Blockchain Week in Seoul this September, this program marks the convergence of fashion, digital artistry, and blockchain. The inaugural art sale under this initiative is set to showcase diverse artistic talents, including Tokyo’s MonkeeMoto, known for game development, and Lebanese artist Adra Kandil, alias Dear Nostalgia, who has collaborated with luxury brands like Gucci and Chanel.
Adidas envisions the Residency as a platform to uplift digital creators and foster collaborations with tangible products in the future. Stacey King, headingCommunications and Activations at Adidas /// Studio, expressed her excitement, viewing this as a natural progression after their previous ventures into the Web3 space. The limited NFT collection, featuring 100 artworks for each artist and priced around $250 (0.15 ETH), will be exclusive to attendees of the Seoul event, accompanied by an Adidas hoodie. Additionally, open edition NFTs priced at about $50 (0.03 ETH) will be available for minting by enthusiasts from September 6 to 11.
This endeavor complements Adidas’s ALTS Ethereum NFT series, which recently collaborated with BAPE for exclusive sneakers with digital counterparts. As Adidas embraces its digital journey, Stacey King hints at more innovative projects. This venture’s fusion of art, fashion, and technology reflects the evolving intersections between the digital and physical realms, redefining collaborations and artistic expressions in the digital age.
